Independence

What it means: 

Being able to do things by yourself and trying your best without always needing help.

In School:

• Trying to solve problems on your own.

• Putting your coat and shoes on by yourself.

• Working hard on your tasks without asking for help straight away.

• Making your own choices (like choosing a book to read).

In the community: 

Independence in the community means being self-reliant and resourceful. It's about contributing to the community's well-being without always relying on others. Learning about Welsh history and culture and sharing your own ideas about it.
